Why the name ‘Seven Rocks’?

Seven Rocks Consulting sees Wisdom as an emerging factor in Natural Leadership. Wisdom is an inherent human faculty. It is about understanding deeply, maintaining an expansive perspective, seeing clearly and acting correctly. Wisdom is free from conditioning. It therefore means that in Natural Leadership the process of accessing Wisdom is often about learning how to “unlearn” limiting beliefs, assumptions, perspectives. The emergence of the Wisdom Faculty brings spontaneity and creativity as natural human responses to life and to Leadership.

Sweat Lodge Ceremony

The Sweat Lodge Ceremony is a long-held tradition of many Native American Indians. It is a Purification Ritual designed to help participants transcend the limiting perspective of the small ‘self’.

Sixteen willow tree branches form a womb-like structure within which the Sweat Lodge Ceremony is held. A pit in the centre holds red hot Rocks or ‘Grandfathers’ heated in a sacred fire just outside the Sweat Lodge. A Sacred line connects the fire to the pit within the Sweat Lodge. The rocks symbolise the wisdom of our ancestors. A typical ceremony consists of four ‘rounds’, during which rocks, carried on antlers’ horns, are placed in the centre. It is customary for the first round to begin with Seven Rocks.

At Seven Rocks Consulting we love the symbolism of the Sweat Lodge Ceremony with its deep recognition of our ability and need to connect with the Wisdom of our Ancestors. We believe that we can access this Wisdom and draw on intuition, insight, creativity and intelligence to unfold our Leadership potential. We believe in integrating this Wisdom with the visionary thinking from East and West. This expands our perspectives. In practical and tangible ways it provides a platform for true transformation and growth.

We call ourselves ‘Seven Rocks Consulting’ as we have researched and honed ‘Seven Foundation Rocks’ for ‘Natural Leadership’ which are profound, simple, developable and transformative. These rocks embed and renew our Wisdom function. Our Workshops are intellectually challenging, practical and most importantly experientially transformative.
