At Seven Rocks Consulting we believe that Leadership is both an Art and a Mystery. We think of Leadership Development as learning the Art of Leadership and exploring the Mystery of Leadership.

The Art of Leadership

Like any professional skill, the Art of Leadership can be developed. It needs only personal motivation (i.e. you need to have a desire to lead others) and an earnest commitment to hone fundamental leadership skills. We call these fundamental leadership skills the Seven Rocks of Natural Leadership.

The Mystery of Leadership

The Mystery of Leadership can be explored and unveiled using techniques to develop previously unrecognised qualities of being, allowing Leaders to engage, inspire, influence, build trust and commitment, leading to the successful execution of strategy through creative action. Leaders access the Mystery of Leadership when they are integrated within themselves, drawing upon natural Emotional Intelligence at deeper and deeper levels of being, allowing them to be moved by and to move the hearts of others. It is this inner integration which brings about understanding and clear-seeing and drives “right leadership action”. Emotional Intelligence is a key differentiator in leadership success. Leadership – what “great” looks like

On many Leadership workshops we are asked “Are Leaders born or made?” Our answer is “Both”. Natural Leaders need to work to develop and unfold inherited capacities and potential. We talk of great Leaders having “charisma”. Everyone has “charisma” when dormant capacities unfold. For many, this potential remains asleep throughout life. We remain “dull”, uninspired and “uninspiring”. Natural Leadership Workshops are a wake up call to latent potential. Through the use of practical tools and techniques, they deepen self-awareness, awareness of others and build creative relationship management skills.

The Need for Leadership Wisdom

Recent Corporate scandals and books such as “The Corporation – the Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power” have troubled many who work in the Corporate world. They open an important debate around the role of the Corporation and it’s executives in modern society. Board members are required to act ethically, displaying integrity and creating trust. Yet we frequently see leaders who lack self-awareness, who lack the ability or desire to self-reflect, who do not see clearly, who fail to create spaciousness in thinking and decision making. They do not therefore choose creatively or act with wisdom. Never has it been more important to develop Leaders who have integrity, who are honest and who have a perspective which is broad and encompassing. Seven Rocks Consulting provides a methodology to develop Natural Leadership.
